BASIS Independent
Schools
Brooklyn, NY | PreK–Grade 12
Opened in 2014 as part of the bi-coastal inaugural year of BASIS Independent Schools, BASIS Independent Brooklyn is celebrating 10 years and now comprises two campuses—one for upper school and one for lower school. The original campus, located in the Red Hook neighborhood, is now home to Grades 2 – 12 while the newly built City Point location houses the lower school with Pre-K through Grade 2. The school represents the diverse tapestry of Brooklyn and fosters a school community of discovery, connection, and ideas.

BASIS Independent Silicon Valley was one of the founding schools in our network, opening in 2014, and quickly become known as one of the best college preparatory programs in the nation with numerous awards. The upper school campus, located in downtown San Jose, serves students in Grades 6 – 12 and in 2022, the new lower school campus opened for Transitional Kindergarten – Grade 5.

BASIS Independent McLean opened in 2016 for students aged Toddler – Grade 12 in the Tysons Corner area in Fairfax County, Virginia, less than 15 miles outside of Washington, D.C. This offers the school easy access to all the cultural offerings and rich history of our nation’s capital. The 11 acre campus features specially-outfitted classrooms and wings for the sciences, performing arts, early learning, and more.

BASIS Independent Fremont opened in 2016 as the fourth campus in our network. The campus is located in the southeast San Francisco Bay Area, with the lower campus serving Transitional Kindergarten – Grade 8 students and the upper school serving Grades 9 – 12.

Opened in 2017, BASIS Independent Manhattan began with Pre-K through Grade 8 offerings and is now a full Pre-K through Grade 12 school with two campuses. The original lower school campus in the heart of the Upper West Side of Manhattan, near Central Park and several notable museums—easily utilized for field trips. The upper school campus, opened in 2021, is in the Chelsea neighborhood.

Located in the tree-lined Crossroads neighborhood of Bellevue, Washington, BASIS Independent Bellevue is home to a globally inspired learning community. Opened in the fall of 2022, the campus began with Grades 3 – 8 and will continue to mature into a full middle and high school program.

Building upon the success of our first campus in the Pacific Northwest, BASIS Independent Bellevue, BASIS Independent Bothell will open in fall of 2025 for Grades K – 12. Nestled in the Canyon Park neighborhood of Bothell, WA, this beautiful and intentionally designed campus will provide a supportive learning environment for learners of all ages.
