BASIS Independent Bellevue is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Middle School Swim Coach.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tennis, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for middle school students. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in competitive swimming, a passion for working with young athletes, and the ability to create an engaging, fun, and skill-focused training environment.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and lead swim practices twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 6:45 AM to 7:45 AM at Samena Swim and Recreation Club.
* Teach fundamental swimming skills and techniques while fine-tuning mechanics for all strokes.
* Develop and implement racing strategies to prepare swimmers for competition.
* Motivate and inspire swimmers to achieve their personal and team goals.
* Foster a positive and inclusive team atmosphere that emphasizes fun, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
* Effectively communicate with parents regarding practice schedules, swim meets, and swimmer progress.
* Oversee the team’s participation in 1-4 swim meets during the season.
Essential Qualifications:
* Competitive swimming experience at the high school level or higher (college swimming experience preferred).
* Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, mechanics, and race strategies.
* Previous coaching experience or experience working with young athletes (ages 10-14) is highly desirable.
* Ability to manage a group of middle school students and maintain a structured practice environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Qualifications
* Minimum: High school diploma and valid fingerprint clearance. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Additional Details:
* The season runs from September 9th to November 6th.
* Students will be dropped off and picked up by parents directly from practice.
